The Queen’s Award for Innovation 2017
Advanced Insulation is delighted to win its fourth Queen’s Award, obtaining the Innovation award for the second time in four years.
As a global supplier of insulation (topside and subsea), passive fire protection, cryogenic spill protection, blast and fire walls and buoyancy, the company is to be recognised for its syntactic subsea insulation, named ContraTherm© C25.
ContraTherm© C25 is a two-part syntactic silicone system consisting of a silicone resin matrix providing integrity and strength, optimised with a fill of glass microspheres. C25 is designed to cater for high-temperature hydrocarbons located in water depths generating considerable hydrostatic presses and, in addition, is capable of application on complex subsea structures in overseas territories.
The Awards were inaugurated in 1966 as The Queen’s Award to Industry.
