Advanced Insulation’s ContraFlex® winterisation jackets provide frost and extreme temperature protection
With winter fast approaching and temperatures in remote regions already dropping to -20°C now is the time to protect your equipment from freezing temperatures and reduced performance.
ContraFlex® winterisation jackets can be used to effectively insulate pipes, fittings, flanges, valves, actuators, junction boxes, vessels and other process equipment, or adapted for plant machinery such as generators, compressors and forklifts etc.
ContraFlex® jackets are bespoke to the equipment and can be modified to incorporate access hatches for lifting points, maintenance and monitoring. The jackets can contain a heat tracing element that runs through the inner face of the jacket. This trace cabling provides heat to the equipment to stop freezing and is insulated in order to retain heat throughout the equipment:
- Prevents freezing of fuel lines
- Prevents cold start problems with batteries or filters
- Provides insulation to retain heat energy and maintain efficiency
ContraFlex® winterisation jackets have been supplied to a number of projects worldwide in cold climates. One such winterisation jacket solution was supplied to Welltec for a generator in 2014 and has been in constant use for two winters – preventing any cold related problems with the generator. The generator is still running in twenty-four hour operations at extreme low temperatures of -40°C.
This winterized jacket has allowed us to avoid all the common threats of winter problems like fuel lines freezing, filters plugging and battery / cold start problems
Commenting for Welltec, CIS Sales Director Dave Clayton explains, “This winterized jacket has allowed us to avoid all the common threats of winter problems like fuel lines freezing, filters plugging and battery / cold start problems”.
