Two directors from Gloucester-based Advanced Insulation – a leading manufacturer of technical and insulation materials for the upstream oil and gas industry – are heading to South Africa at the end of February to take part in the 2015 Cape Town Cycle Tour.
Commenting for Advanced Insulation, managing director Andrew Bennion says: “In a moment of weakness, myself and fellow director David Williams have accepted the ‘CapeTown Cycle Tour’ challenge and are hoping to raise donations for two local charities.”
Andrew has chosen Winston’s Wish (www.winstonswish.org.uk), which supports bereaved children, regardless of cause, be it cancer, traffic accident, or children of military personnel. David has selected the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity (www.royalmarsden.nhs.uk), known to most for its fantastic work in helping people suffering from cancer and for its on-going research to help eradicate the disease in the future.
The CapeTown Cycle Tour see as many as 35,000 cyclists participate in the largest timed cycle event in the world and covers a route around Table Mountain, down to CapePoint and back to Cape Town – a distance of 109 kilometres, just over 69 miles! As Andrew and David put it, “We hope you can support these worthwhile causes with generous sponsorship contributions so that our chosen charities will benefit from our madness!”
