Christopher Read, Alastair Boyes, and Gavin Moore have won awards at the first EIC Rising Star MBA Award at the EIC National Awards Dinner in London, a new initiative developed in partnership with Robert Gordon University (RGU) to help develop the leaders of tomorrow in the oil and gas sector.
The runner-up, Christopher Read, will receive a £5,000 scholarship towards and MBA in Oil and Gas Management. Gavin Moore finished in joint third place with Sarfraz Mohammed from Worley Parsons and will receive £2,500 funding and Alastair Boyes, Principle Engineer, finished fourth, receiving £1,000 towards tuition.
The winner, Daniel Gear of Petrofac, is the first recipient of the Rising Star Award and will receive full tuition fees of £16,500.

Christopher Read, Sales Support Manager, added: “I’m thrilled to win funding for an MBA with RGU. This will be my second master’s degree, having completed my MEng last year, and will help me to further progress my career in the oil and gas industry. I’m excited to get started!”
Gavin Moore, Project Manager, added: “I am extremely proud to be have been awarded third place in the EIC Rising Star Award and grateful for the scholarship to study for an MBA in Oil & Gas Management. Thank you to the EIC for the award and all my colleagues at AIS for the support.”
Alastair Boyes, Principal Engineer, added: “I’m delighted to have been shortlisted for the award from EIC and thankful to Andrew Bennion and Advanced Insulation for sponsoring all three candidates through the course. To have three members of staff on the awards panel is a huge achievement, it will be great to study alongside my colleagues.”
